Offer Board of Directors support through experience

Guide the development of Community Village Lawrence.

Help write, evaluate and structure budgets to fit the needs of a developing and evolving non-profit organization. They will be willing to work in a cooperative manner with the fundraising and grants committees to identify new ideas and adapt to changes in the strategic goals of Community Village.

Organize and implement annual fundraising events and create potential new events; engage prospective and current donors; work within a team of volunteers to coordinate and plan charitable activities to benefit our organization and the people we serve. If you have interest in or experience with fundraising, we need your skills to put together a series of diverse and creative events and campaigns to raise the funds needed to support the services we provide.

Assist with grant research, grant writing, securing private and corporate donations and sponsorships. If you have research and writing skills and would like to learn more about developing funding sources, we need your skills to secure funds for services, programs and general operating expenses.

The village model relies on the commitment of a volunteer network of both members and non-members who interact with and assist neighbors wanting to age in place, by sharing their time and talents to assist with day to day tasks that may be a challenge. Volunteers also engage Village members in social, cultural and educational programs aimed to enrich quality of life. A Volunteer Committee member will recruit, train, assign, monitor, and recognize volunteers while listening to volunteer and member feedback to improve and sustain optimal service.

The Membership Committee will act as the voice of the members by ensuring member satisfaction and wellbeing. A member of this committee will help grow and manage membership, conceive potential member services, establish policies, organize activities and gather feedback.

If you have interest in or experience with marketing or public relations, or if you are just enthusiastic about reaching out to help spread our mission, we need your skills and ideas to market our program in Lawrence. Serve as community liaison or help design our various media materials, including brochures, newsletters and the CVL website.

Services is the heart of Community Village Lawrence. As a member of the Services Committee you will help implement core services and act on behalf of members to coordinate services and various dimensions of support.

The Organizational Support Committee will provide support to CVL as a whole in a multitude of dimensions. Research, data interpretation, communication, standardization, legal issues and organization documents are all managed by this committee, and a volunteer will find many great opportunities to get to work with various volunteer teams and ongoing projects.
