Volunteerism at Community Village Lawrence
Community Village Lawrence is backed by a passionate group of volunteers who believe our program is a much needed service in our community that will increase the health and well-being for members and volunteers while increasing overall quality of life for the entire community through volunteerism and neighborhood development.

We are an all volunteer program. Our current board includes: Chris Holmer (chair), Ellen Paulsen (vice chair), Mary Baxter (treasurer), Mary Johnson (secretary), Diane Adamson, John Hodge, Tamara Cash, Judith Bellome, and Brenda Nunez.  Monthly our 8 board members donate 165 hours of their time!

CVL Board Member Receives National Recognition for Home Care Judy Bellome culminates her professional career with her induction into the Home Care & Hospice Hall of Fame.  The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) represents professionals who have dedicated their lives to the care and service of others.  Judy joined 4 others in this year's class of  inductees honored at the Association's annual conference in Washington, D.C.  The 4 day event allowed attendees to learn first hand from Judy how their agencies can provide effective service with limited resources.

And Judy is not through yet.

Since her retirement as CEO of Douglas County Visiting Nurses in early 2013, she has applied her 46 years of health care experience toward introducing volunteer services through the Village model.  Judy has dedicated her energy, talents, and time to our efforts and has been an essential part of our development, dedicating an average of 10 hours per week.
Judy is seeking other volunteers to join her on the Finance Committee to establish a secure funding base and long term resources on which to build a strong support organization.
Thank you, Judy, for your efforts!
